Caroline loves to entertain her sister

I walked into the living room and found Caroline had dressed up and was singing to her sister. She was gracious enough to recreate so I could get a video.

My little girl!

Never thought I'd say the word PETITE and be talking about anyone in my family, but #2 is a little thing. She looks so little compared to all the little boys born around the same time. Alayna weighed 14lbs and 12 oz at her 4 month appointment. She is 25.5 inches long and has some big ole feet though!

Caroline is the most wonderful big sister we could ever hope for. She loves Alayna so much and always wants to help us or tries to calm Alayna down all by herself. It's too sweet for words.

It's a happy time in the Cook household.

Alayna

The song is called "Daughter" by Loudon Wainwright III. It is from the movie Knocked Up and it was playing at the end during the credits. John loves this song.

Our girls

Big sister and Little sister hamming it up.

Despite Alayna's rough start, she is doing great. At her 2 month appointment, she weighed 11 pounds and is 23 inches long. Unfortunately, she is a reflux baby and the doctor put her on Zantac. Hopefully, that is the reason she is such a crier and the meds will help.

I'll be going back to work on July 20th. I am ready...kind of. It will be interesting on the days that John is gone in the morning. I am nervous about that.

Caroline is a wonderful big sister and such a great helper. She loves to talk to Alayna and sings to her everyday. It's pretty cute.

John is working. Of course. Did you expect a different update?

Wyatt is still for sale.

Yes, she's here and I just haven't updated!

Alayna Naomi Cook was born April 23rd at 1:04pm. She weighed 7lbs and 13oz.

When I have time to update more, I will. She's very colicy and loves to be held all the time!

She'll be here soon!

Thursday is approaching fast! Are we ready? Kind of. John and I are surprisingly fly by the seat of our pants still.

I can't wait to meet her and I can't wait to see Caroline as a big sister. She's so excited!

End of February update

First of all - how is February already over??? Time has been flying by.

An Alayna Naomi update...Last week, I went to my regular OB and my tummy measured 32 weeks big. I was officially 29 weeks at the time. Yesterday, I went to the high risk doctor and had my monthly sonogram and kiddo measurement. And big surprise...she was actually measuring 32 weeks. We are officially having a big baby. She already weighs 4 pounds!! I don't have gestational diabetes, so it looks like Alayna might take after her Daddy. He was a big un too. It is good that she is growing so well though. Part of the concern with my clotting disorders it that the bloodflow to the baby might somehow be compromised. Definitely not an issue!
I am definitely all belly. I've just started really gaining weight and I am pretty uncomfortable 100% of the time. I still have 8 weeks to go too!

Caroline is doing great. She is ADDICTED to Disney princesses. Specifically Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella. It looks like Disney threw up in our house. She is quite the diva and I think in for a HUGE surprise once her sister gets here. School is going well. She (of course) can sing her ABC song and count to 20 sometimes. She gets distracted easily, so we work on it as much as we can until she gets annoyed. Her favorite thing to do is boss everyone around. I don't know where she gets that from! She is a total Daddy's girl. She's got him wrapped around her finger!

John is good. He is working a lot. In fact, he is working a 24 hour overtime shift today. I still have a job and will officially be a Bank of America associate on April 1st.

That's about it...For semi daily updates, John and I are both addicted to Facebook, so we are always on there.

Maybe next time John is actually home, I will get him to take a picture of me. Or maybe Mom or Laura can do it this weekend.

So, what do you think??

She looks a bit like her sister don't you think?

Everything is going great so far. Alayna is measuring a week or 2 ahead on most everything. I am starting to get kind of big. I'm definitely exhausted. We are slowly but surely getting stuff done around the house in preparation for her arrival. She'll be here before we know it!

John and Caroline are doing good. John works all the time it seems and I'm pretty sure he loves it. Caroline is turning into a little me. It's scary.

That's about it.

We have a date!

In 15 short (?) weeks, Alayna is scheduled to come into the world. My c-section was scheduled for April 23rd. That day is of course Chase's birthday too. Funny how things work.

We have NOTHING done. Absolutely nothing. We haven't gone through all the clothes in the attic, we haven't put the crib together. We DID clean out the bedroom though, so I guess we can't truly say we've done nothing. We still have to get Caroline a new dresser so we can move the one she has in her room into Alayna's room.

So much to do and I feel like the time is just flying by!!!
